While Andrew Kryder doesn’t necessarily excel at technology, he knows the benefit of it. His personal injury law firm, Kryder Law, struggled with disorganized files and inefficient data utilization. Andrew was managing by instinct rather than using data. “I think I was one of those people who was managing based on feel without really having the benefit of the data. And when you actually have the data, it's a more precise decision,” says Andrew.
He signed up for Smokeball. But being a little tech-averse, Andrew's firm didn’t fully immerse themselves in the software until attorney Nick Friel saw the opportunity. Nick partnered with Smokeball's training team to learn the software and onboard his colleagues.
Making data-informed decisions with Smokeball
Now Kryder Law uses Smokeball to track their case work and resolve any barriers to progress. Smokeball reports allows the attorneys to track case length, average fees, attorney performance, and more. “Having Smokeball with our files staged at various junctures really allows us to quickly assess where we need to work on files. At what stage do we need to push these through or provide more attention at that stage? Or where are we doing great? And why don't we take that process where we're doing great and put it over into another stage where we want to do better,” says Andrew.
Prioritizing profitable cases and client care
With Smokeball, Andrew and his staff are more efficient and dedicate their time to profitable cases and client care. “Whether it be just organization or document management or document creation—we're able to do more faster and more efficiently with Smokeball. And if you can do those things, you're either saving money or you're making more money. Either way, it's a practical benefit,” shares Andrew.
