Warning About Digital Employment Scams

Smokeball is aware of fraudulent recruitment scams that misuse our company name and logo.We are committed to protecting our candidates from these scams and take all necessary steps to ensure a safe and secure recruitment process.Smokeball will never ask you for money or personal financial information during the recruitment process.

How to identify a fraudulent recruitment scam:

  • The Federal Trade Commission provides this helpful resource for identifying phishing scams: Phishing
  • The job offer is unsolicited and you did not apply for the position.
  • The job offer seems too good to be true, with a high salary or benefits for little or no experience.
  • The scammer communicates with you through a free email service or social media platform, rather than a Smokeball email address.
  • The scammer asks you for money upfront for training or background checks.

What to do if you are targeted by a scam:

  • Do not respond to the communication.
  • Do not send any money or personal information.
  • Report the scam to Smokeball by contacting us at (855) 798-1649 or infosec@smokeball.com.
